GENERAL SUMMARY:??
The Officer manages and supports special fundraising programs for all Annual Giving naming opportunities as well as programs that have corporate component with a goal to raise $2M+ annually. Naming opportunities displays are entry level naming opportunities ranging from $3,000-$15,000 and this position manages inquiries by providing details on the displays, conducts personal visits, and develops marketing schedules. Workplace Giving Programs include Companies for Cures, federal and state employee campaigns, United Ways, internal Dana-Farber general faculty and staff giving, holiday patient assistance, and other employee-based campaigns. ??Responsible for assisting the entire Division with reaching financial goals.

Dana-Farber is pursuing an ambitious, multi-year fundraising effort to change the future of cancer research and care: The Dana-Farber Campaign. This $2 billion campaign is the largest in the Institute???s history and one of the largest ever in the U.S. focused solely on cancer. Philanthropy raised through The Dana-Farber Campaign will accelerate the Institute???s strategic priorities by supporting revolutionary science, extraordinary care, exceptional expertise, and essential opportunities???helping us prevent, treat, and Defy Cancer.

Special Constituency Program Management
Manage naming opportunity displays, responsible for raising $575K+ annually, including the Gene Display, Imagine Display, Ripple Effect and ongoing maintenance of the Zebrafish Display.
Coordinate and send proposals to secure naming opportunity donors.
Manage inquiries and communication through shared mailboxes.
Conduct personal follow-up to each proposal via phone or email.
Identify prospects and constituency groups for solicitation; generate lists from various constituencies of donors across Division for solicitations, coordinate production of proposals.??
Manage revenue, tracking, and reporting of naming opportunity in ClearView.
Work with Special Programs team to collaborate on generated naming opportunities.
Coordinate with DFCI staff and designer/sign contractor for installations. This includes on-site visits to check on install after to take photos for donor distribution.
Periodic visits to display to check on any on-going issues and restock marketing materials.
Develop marketing strategy for all naming opportunities, set solicitation timelines, conceptualize materials, assist in writing copy, and coordinate with Philanthropy Communications and Information Services staff to conduct special constituency appeals by mail, email/web, telephone, and personal solicitation.
Manage Workplace Giving Program, responsible for raising $1.4M+ annually.
Oversee all programs including Companies for Cures (private companies), Combined Federal Campaign, state and other government-based campaigns, and United Way campaigns that support Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund.
Apply for new certifications and listings and liaise with program contacts externally and internal colleagues as needed (such as gift processing to ensure gifts are booked correctly).
Strategize program, track gifts in ClearView, and steward participating companies and individual employees.
Manage inquiries and communication through shared mailbox.
Coordinate internally with other Special Programs staff for internally run Workplace Giving programs including Dana-Farber???s faculty and staff general giving and Holiday Patient Assistance.
Collaborate with other members of the Special Programs team to promote unique fundraising programs to companies such as Giving Pages, naming opportunities, and holiday patient assistance. Strategize to grow other areas of corporate giving across Annual Giving and other fundraising teams.
Prospect Management
Complete 100 donor visits and make 350 asks annually with the goal of securing naming opportunity donors and renewing President???s Circle level ($1,500+) gifts.
Utilize direct mail, phone, email, or volunteers for solicitation or cultivation as appropriate.
Keep current with and be able to convey information about highlights and initiatives at Dana-Farber.
Participate in visits and asks of Annual Giving donors.??????
Prospect Management

Stewardship
Assist with stewardship of corporate prospects and liaise with corporate-focused Assistant Director on Prospect Management Team when needed for pipeline building.
Participate in the weekly stewardship of existing donors for the purpose of retention and increased giving.
Respond to calls and visits from donors and prospects. Determine priority of the situation. Suggest response and refer to/inform supervisor as appropriate.
Reporting
Produce accurate and frequent reports on results of above-mentioned special constituency programs.
Develop a working knowledge of the fundraising database and other management information and tracking systems used by the Philanthropy Office to effectively update and report progress toward goals.
Responsible for revenue reporting for above mentioned special constituency programs.
Other Tasks
Participate as needed in Philanthropy team efforts including solicitation strategy teams for key prospects and internal planning efforts. Ad-hoc projects. Other responsibilities as assigned. Responsible for assisting the entire department with reaching financial goals.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reports to the Associate Director II of Annual Giving Special Fundraising Programs and Stewardship. This position has some supervisory responsibilities of interns/temps, and will seek major decision-making authority from direct supervisors. However, independent decision-making on day-to-day tasks and good judgment is required for dealing with Institute donors, trustees, vendors, senior staff, and confidential information.
Bachelor???s degree required plus 3-5 years of Development or equivalent experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Excellent analytical and communications skills (both written and verbal) are necessary. Superior organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and manage multiple projects also required. Directed and self-starting, positive attitude; ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong computer skills, familiarity with development databases and competency in Microsoft Office Suite products is necessary. Analytical and reporting capabilities are required. Excellent problem solving and reasoning skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines, and bottom line goals. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work with a variety of constituencies, including donors, volunteers, and DFCI faculty and staff.?? Demonstrated ability to meet fundraising goals and deadlines. Experience in annual fund and with donor solicitation and prospect management a plus. High degree of confidentiality must always be exercised.
This position will evaluate current programs and create and execute approved plans to expand and diversify the donors and participants for the events assigned in order to broaden our donor base and create even more inclusive events. Experience with diverse donors is a plus.
