Job Summary:
As a Permits/Engineering Coordinator, your role is multifaceted, involving both administrative and technical responsibilities. You oversee the entire permitting process for various engineering projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This involves reviewing applications, coordinating with regulatory agencies, and obtaining necessary permits. You maintain accurate records of all permits, approvals, and relevant documentation. This includes tracking permit expiration dates, submitting renewal applications, and managing permit-related correspondence. Must be local to the Pittsburgh area. Hybrid work environment.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Coordinate the make ready work of DQE Sub-contractors, Utilities, ILECS and Third Party Attachers(TPA)..
Maintain current permit application requirements for the various utilities and TPAs.
Prepare and submit pole attachment applications to the various utilities and TPAs.
Prepare and submit ROW applications to the various government entities.
Perform joint ride outs with the various utilities, ILECS and TPAs
Meet with utility and government representatives on site to resolve permit issues.
Provide technical support to engineering teams by interpreting regulatory requirements, conducting research on permit regulations, and offering guidance on compliance strategies.
Follow the permit applications through the approval process until granted.
Review Make Ready budgeting by Project Manager and ensure accuracy to project scope.
Maintain and record all new permit applications in database tracker.

Education and Experience:
Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, telecommunications, or related field preferred.
High school diploma or GED with ten years’ experience in the engineering, permitting, and
construction of outside plant communications systems.
Computing skills, experience with databases and spreadsheets.
Strong regulatory knowledge.
Attention to details and experience with complex documents.
Must be well organized with effective time management skills.
