Position Information: The Clinical Care Coordinator and Transgender Care Specialist position is a new position responsible for coordinating mental health/health care services at the UCR Student Health Services (SHS) and Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) Center, and additionally to support transgender, nonbinary, and gender diverse undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. The position provides direct service to students in coordinating access to gender affirming care; including providing mental health support, stabilization and screenings, facilitation of student referrals/bridge support to campus and community resources; consultation and support of clinician/physician activities, providing outreach and prevention, and collaborating with other student services on-campus. In addition, this position will serve as an advocate supporting non-clinical needs of students who seek support on campus through UCR's LGBT Resource Center (LGBTRC) with dedicated hours in the LGBTRC. This position works in three locations throughout the week, including Student Health Services, Counseling and Psychological Services, and holds office hours for non-clinical support within the LGBTRC.
This role will work outside of traditional work hours (M-F 10 am - 7 pm).

The full salary range for the Clinical Care Coordinator and Transgender Care Specialist is $78,700.00 - $145,100.00 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $100,000 annually. We base salary offers on various considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Develops and communicates treatment plans, provides therapeutic crisis intervention/management and urgent services as required. Utilizing the expertise as seasoned licensed clinicians to provide direct clinical services, clinical consultation and/or psychotherapy to diverse UCR students/clients. Development of clinically appropriate treatment plans in alignment with client specific needs; communication of clinically appropriate treatment plans; provision of crisis intervention services and support and management of critical mental health crisis on campus as required. Utilizing acquired expertise and knowledge of intersectionality, multiculturalism, and diversity, equity and inclusion and their impact on psychological service delivery in a university setting to provide direct clinical care. Provision of clinical services with respect to and utilizing experience providing trauma informed care. Assesses unique needs of clients in consideration of their intersecting identities, lived experience and history of trauma in order to determine the most effective approach and clients and determines appropriate therapeutic approach in consultation with other behavioral health professionals as appropriate. Increases capacity at CAPS to serve the trans and gender diverse population through direct consultation and services.

PATIENT CARE NAVIGATION AND ADVOCACY- First point of contact for any student interested in accessing gender affirming care. Takes initial intake assessment in order to understand each persons health care needs and goals. Helps students navigate systems and schedule appointments in order to establish or continue with gender affirming care; including understanding associated costs and coverage, including any care/surgeries/procedures covered with UC SHIP, or other insurance. Provides case management services. Coordinates individual care for transgender and nonbinary students. Supports health insurance navigation. Supports the exploration of sexual and gender identity development. Serves on/may coordinate a gender affirming care team for students, including, but not limited to CAPS counselor, primary healthcare provider, endocrinologist, psychiatrist and liaisons with LGBT Resource Center staff. In coordination with the LGBT Resource Center, provides education and training on how to support trans and nonbinary student patients and provides culturally competent patient care. In coordination with the LGBT Resource Center, provides in-person education for the campus community on trans and gender diverse communities. In coordination with the LGBT Resource Center, participates in the development and delivery of online trans and gender diverse training for various campus constituencies. In coordination with LGBTRC establishes regular hours at the LGBTRC for drop in and support group hours.

DOCUMENTATION AND ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES AS ASSIGNED:
Clinical Documentation and Case Management: Maintain professional standards of documentation for professional psychotherapy encounters within the client electronic health record, primarily utilizing the remainder of the hour in which each encounter took place. Completes accurate and concise clinical documentation for all clinical contacts in compliance with ethical and professional standards and in compliance with Quality Assurance and CAPS policies and procedures. Manages caseload appropriately to ensure continuity of care and availability in alignment with clinical need and CAPS policies and procedures.
Administrative Duties: Participates in staff meetings, assignments and workgroups. Work closely as a member of an integrated team, which includes providing consultation to other providers and trainees. Participated in other duties as assigned in support of CAPS operations.

CRISIS SUPPORT: As technical leader, performs specialized evaluation, diagnosis, and psychotherapy for the most complex cases. Crisis evaluations for urgent services (walk-in and virtual walk-in); supporting students and UC Riverside community in consultation and triage as needed. Provides support and evaluation for students requiring mental health hospitalization and follow-up. Serves as a primary contact and support for Respondent Services. May include occasional support for other UC campuses per reciprocity within system, crisis debrief, and other related crisis support services.
