Position Information: The Division of Clinical Sciences at the University of California, Riverside (UCR) School of Medicine is recruiting neurology clinicians within the Department of Psychiatry and Neuroscience. We seek dynamic clinician-educators to support the inpatient and outpatient clinical practice in neurology within an academic setting. The successful candidate (s) will practice at UCR and/or UCR-affiliated clinical facilities in Riverside and surrounding areas. This includes UCR clinics, affiliated hospitals, including the UCR Multiple Sclerosis Program, which is designated by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society as a comprehensive multiple sclerosis care center.
Fellowship training (in neuroimmunology/ multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular neurology, epilepsy, or another subspecialty) is not required. It is a preferred qualification.
The successful candidate must possess an M.D. or equivalent degree and be eligible to practice in the State of California by the time of employment. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

The full salary range for the Physician Specialist-Neurologist is from $118,100 - $302,700 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure, certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
These appointments are part-time, up to 50%.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Specialty Patient Care - Neurology Physician Specialists engage in specialty direct patient care activities and medical/clinical practice as the principal component of his/her overall professional responsibility. Patient care activities will include, but are not be limited to: 1. Assessment, evaluation, diagnostic determination, on-going treatment and clinical management, necessary referral for consultation, care planning and modification, medications/therapeutic orders, transfer authorization, risk assessment, and, when appropriate, determination of readiness and planning for discharge. 2. Extensive and on-going communications with community primary care physicians who routinely manage the care of patients. 3. Day-to-day patient contact/rounding/care management that actively encourages and includes professional input from all members of the patient care team. 4. Accurate and timely completion of all clinical and professional records and documentation to assure compliance with local, state and federal regulatory, licensure and accreditation requirements. 5. May instruct residents, interns, and students in a designated specialized medical service.
