Position Information: The Strategic Project Manager serves as a key partner to the Vice Chancellor of Planning, Budget & Administration (VCPBA), ensuring that institutional priorities, special initiatives, and cross-divisional projects are effectively advanced. This position supports planning, communication and coordination functions across the VCPBA organization that includes FP&A, Facilities, Business & Financial Services, Planning Design & Construction, Auxiliary Services, EH&S - Risk Services, Real Estate Services & Institutional Research. The successful candidate will be an organized communicator who can distill complexity, develop executive-level materials, and help move important projects forward in a timely structured way.
The full salary range for the Strategic Project Manager is $103,100 - $196,300 per year. However, the expected pay scale for this position is from $103,100 - $150,000 per year. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Required
Advanced degree.
Preferred
Degree in a field such as; business, economics, finance

Experience in project management and/or consulting
Strong skills in short and long range planning, program and project management, facilitation and collaboration.
Sound strategic-thinking and consulting skills in guiding the department toward workable strategies and solutions.
Strong ability to focus on priorities, strategies, and vision.
Strong ability to coach, facilitate and influence people at all levels.
Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with a broad range of staff and members of the community.
Knowledge of common computer application programs.
Ability to distill complexity, develop executive-level materials and help move important projects forward in a timely and structured way.
Ability to work and lead with political acumen.
Preferred Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of departmental processes, protocols and procedures.
Working knowledge of the University of California system.
